Are you fucking kidding me? How did this party not learn that the American people are not looking for silver-spoon Northeast elitists who have no idea what it's like to be a middle-class American. The Republican Party cornered the market on this need albeit deceptively and only because Karl Rove used decades of data, but they used what Americans wanted.

Obama and his crew took advantage of this and he got elected. Then almost immediately turned away from those of us who elected him and then filled an entire cabinet of Wall Street elites. Hmmm. Very nice Obama...very nice.

And now up in Massachusetts you have Coakley. This woman is the epitome of Northeast Elite. Trust me I'm surrounded by them everyday...they're the most out-of-touch people you will EVER meet! In fact they piss me off more than the FOX News Rightie...well that's saying a lot so let me say that they piss me off equally. But seriously this woman can't tell you the last time she worried about a paycheck not covering all of the bills. She can't tell you how many miles are on her car. She can't tell you how much a gallon of milk costs. Do my politicians have to be from the middle class only? No--of course not, but I do want to see my party learn from the last eight years and it obviously hasn't.

In fact I can make the case that the Dems are worse off because this party has acted just as cocky as the Republicans did in 2000. And unlike the Repugs who were able to act as a whole back in 2000 and get the things that they wanted done, the Dems do nothing but fight amongst themselves and try to see who has the most power...on the hill or in the house!

All I know is here we are again...a party defined by haughty elitists who all I want to do is knock the fuck out for using my vote to get or stay in office and then languishing and crying about how nothing that they want gets done.

So to Coakley I say this: you didn't deserve that seat BITCH! That seat belonged to the people and you did nothing to earn it's spot. You deserve everything you get tonight. Enjoy!

Why the Fact That I Follow the NHL Is Different

So this upcoming New Years Day (Fri) will mark the third year of an NHL Winter Classic game being played. In case you're not familiar with the Winter Classic Game it's a regular season game between two NHL teams in which their game is played OUTDOORS in an open-air stadium. This year we will see the Philadelphia Flyers going up to Boston to play the Bruins in Fenway Park! There's just something so cool looking about NHL being played outdoors—especially if it's snowing.

Anyways I just think that the way the NHL has been handling it's comeback from the lockout days when it looked like the NHL was actually going to dissolve, to see where the league is now is a breath of fresh air.

The funny thing is that I am a newcomer when it comes to the NHL. I haven't been following it for years like I have the NFL or NBA. Something that's interesting and totally a different conversation (and ties into a soon to be published post re: ball clubs from the Pac-NW), is the way that I stopped being such a sports nut as soon as I stopped hanging out with my group of friends from my late-teens and early-to-mid twenties. Back in the day I not only followed all of the major sports, but I was fiercely dedicated to "my teams". I mean there was once a time when I was such a die hard fan of the New York Knicks that whenever they lost a regular season game I wouldn't watch SportsCenter that night because I couldn't stand seeing the "highlights" from the loss. Nowadays I could almost care less about the Knicks and actually find myself rooting for the once hated Portland Trail Blazers. The real difference has less to do with what team I might root for and more to do with the fact that I could give two shits about the NBA! I can't even tell you who won the NBA championship last season. Scratch that—I know that the LA Lakers won but only because I downloaded the demo of NBA 2K10 for my PS3 and because it was just a demo version the only teams available to play with are the two teams who played in the NBA Finals and seeing the Lakers jogged my memory and that's when I remembered them winning it all. But I couldn't tell you who won the last five championships, and there was once a time when I could not only tell you who won the Finals but who they played as well as all of the teams who made the playoffs from the last five years!

But this lack of interest just doesn't fall onto the NBA, I used to be a nut when it came to MLB and my beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. And while I have shown an interest in the Dodgers recently, I don't care about them anymore. I don't care about their rivalry with the once much hated SF Giants and I don't care about their players. In fact it is in my opinion that major league baseball should be gutted by the federal government because of how tainted the sport is with PEDs*. I also used to give a shit about UCLA in both football and in basketball. This last college football season I watched the Bruins' second game of the season against the University of Tennessee Vols but that was it! I didn't watch another UCLA football game for the rest of the year! In fact I can't even tell you who the QB of the UCLA football team and again nor do I care.

I think a lot of what me such a huge sports fan from my late-teens to my mid-20s were two factors. The first and foremost reason was my group of friends back then. With the exception of Steve who doesn't care about sports at all with the exception of the NY Yankees (and even then it's still a fair weather thing), all of my friends in our tight knit group were not just sports fans, we were die hard followers of our teams. It was the focus of our friendships in most cases. Most of our get-together's were based on sports events, and many of our discussions were based on our opinions about a particular league, or a team, a game or a player.

I think the other factor which lead to my obsession of certain leagues and teams was the fact that at that point in my life I had no passions about meaningful life topics. No matter how important sports are to a nation or group of people, it's not important in the large scheme of things. It now makes me sick to know that certain people my age (and older) know more about sports than they do their own surroundings. The fact that there are Americans who don't know a single thing about their own nation's activities around the globe but can recite to you the top-10 ERAs in pro-baseball makes me want to fuck them up.

Now while the two factors that I just mentioned is what brought me to those leagues, the disappearance of those factors is not what pushed me away from those leagues! The reason why I no longer care about the MLB or the NBA is because those leagues all changed, but not for the better. Anyone who thinks that the isolation offense and a league of players who can't shoot hoops is as exciting as the NBA that I fell in love with are just kidding themselves because they don't want to face the music. And anyone who thinks that watching an entire league of cocky baseball players who are all jacked on PEDs is fun has got to be a fucking idiot! I can't watch those leagues because they are leagues without heart or emotions and full of smokescreens. The only league(s) that I watch but with less emotion would be the NCAA teams and to be honest I still have the emotion but for different teams now. I was a huge UCLA fan because for whatever reason I wanted to be identified by my past in Southern California. But now because my heart is firmly staked in the Pacific-Northwest I have found myself rooting for Ducks, Beavers, Vikings and Huskies. But make no mistake...MLB and the NBA are garbage.

What the hell does any of this have to do with why it's "different" that I follow the NHL? It's different because I never once followed the NHL before. I never did because it wasn't an accepted sport within our group of friends. So I never followed it—which pisses me off now because I missed out on so much good sports moments! I will forever be a dedicated NFL fan! That's never going to change unless for whatever reason the Denver Broncos were to disappear. But while I have dropped sports which no longer appeal to me, I have adopted the NHL. Why? Because it's a sports league which is based more on unique and exceptional talent that the average human being just doesn't have than most other leagues! Especially after trying to skate on ice for the first time myself do I realize how crazy it is to see those guys do what they do. To see guys all just as big as NFL linebackers skate around on ice at speeds of what seems like 40mph who have added 6-inches to their already 6' 4" frames trying to pass a little puck to each other and then get it past a guy who specializes in stopping pucks is insane to me and wildly entertaining! Not to mention that NHL players are allowed to fight each other is heavenly if you ask me. The fact that fighting is a part of the game makes hockey different. Not because it's cool that they are allowed to fuck each other up, but because of what it says about the sport. It's old school, it's raw and it's more emotional than any other sport! Emotions have more influence on a hockey game than any other game in any other sport sans maybe football.

For the first time the NHL is marketing their sport on these emotions. Playing a game with the design that hockey has brings out emotions that influence so much of the game, from team chemistry to how much a player can fight through their own exhaustion. I came to the realization that ice hockey has the tough fight and emotion of a football game that is played three-to-four times a week! So this has an interesting effect on the game itself, teams are able to go on amazing streaks as well as demoralizing ruts all based on what the team is feeling as a collective-whole. The style of physical battle that hockey brings to the table, a battle that is only rivaled by the play between the offensive and defensive lines in football, makes for better team play by a club's players. The different lines and the fact that those lines change while the game is playing are all amazing to me. And when it's all said and done, the ultimate equalizer is that if a guy on the other team is acting a fool and sending cheap shots all game long, you send your toughest motherfucker out there to go and try to beat the fuck outta that piece of shit! Ha ha ha. To see a team who is losing by two goals get fired up by seeing one of their teammates win a fight out on the ice and answer with three goals to win the game is priceless!

I don't know exactly what it was that made me get into the NHL, but I love not just the NHL as a league, but ice hockey as a sport. I finally get what makes it such a loved league and sport. It's hard for me to explain my feelings for the NHL. But I think that I have come on in a good time...a renaissance so to speak. I am glad that I wasn't into it before the lockout because from what I have heard from NHL fans is that the league was in a very bad place then and the sport wasn't being played like it should be played and worst yet the NHL fan was not being catered to. And the fact that the NHL almost went away forever has made the league design everything around the fan—which no other league can say, not even the NFL.

So I will be watching the 3rd NHL Winter Classic this year knowing that it's entire existence is based entirely on the NHL's fan base. We wanted a yearly game with some meaning to be played outdoors in the cold and that's what we got. We wanted more open play without seeing the defense have it's hands tied and that's what we got. We wanted to see more talent spread through the league so that old rivalries as well as new ones could flourish and that's what we got.

The NHL is going to be just fine and I know this because North Americans almost lost it forever. And because the NHL found out on it's deathbed that the league needed to be about the fans and not the players and owners, it took it's second chance and ran with it and picked up thousands upon thousands of fans just like me. Fans that will be around forever as long as it's about us.

* PEDs (performance enhancing drugs)

New Job

Hello Blog that nobody reads...

Just wanted to make record of the fact that I just got a new job working for the Newport Art Museum!

It's great!

I am the assistant operations director. Actually I take that back because there were numerous times that I messed around with a Wii demo models at places like Best Buy and GameStop. But the first time I actually got to sit down in a comfy chair, in front of a nice 40" Samsung HDTV, knowing that I was not going to be bothered by the Best Buy gang of 12 yr-old pests, being totally conscious of the fact that there were at least five games to play and finally, knowing that I literally had hours upon hours of the Wii all to myself...I...I...I was...I was let down!! WHAT!? NO!? I was fucking let down—BY THE WII! What!? No...this wasn't possible...this couldn't be right. What is going on!? I've been waiting and waiting for it as if it were the first manned trip to the moon! This was my beloved Nintendo's offering to the next generation of consoles. I needed an explanation.

Why would Nintendo push out their new console and not make it HDTV compatible? Why would Nintendo push out their new console with a graphics engine almost identical to their last console? Why would Nintendo focus more on a new control system (the Wii nunchuks) instead of a new console all together!? Why why why!?!?!? Listen here...with the exception of Super Mario Galaxy which is a brilliant game by the way...the Wii has SHIT! The new Zelda? While it's not a shitty game (because no Zelda has or ever will be shitty), it's no better looking than it's GameCube sibling. I mean...there's no reason why the Wii has to be this shitty! So what is Nintendo up to? Well I'll tell you, it's sales! That's it. That's all Nintendo cares about right now. Look at who the Wii is marketed for? 1.) Kids (which is totally fine...as Nintendo has always been the "kid-friendly" console) and then there's 2.) First time gamer adults. You know the mom and dad in their 50's who watch American Idol every night that it's on!? The type of suburban mall-folk who seem to always be in a competition with their neighbors as to who has the best!? You know the people who have to read People or In Touch Weekly kind of people who have to always be "in the know" if ya know what I mean? These people were told by the system, that if you want to be cool and live a lifestyle that makes your neighbors, co-workers, and most importantly your friends & family to think that you're with it...then you need to buy a fucking Nintendo Wii!!

I'm serious! I am so right with this view and I have nothing but stats to back me up mind you. Look, with the exception of Super Mario Galaxy the Wii has nothing. Wait a minute I take that back...the Wii has the title of—and this is horrible—KING OF SHIT! I have included a nice little data table below me that shows something very interesting. If you take every game made for every console of the current generation AND (this is insane) every console from the last generation, took all of their scores and came up with an average score...the Wii finishes DEAD LAST! Dead-fucking-last behind consoles that are technically "inferior" to the Wii! How does this happen Nintendo? How can the PS2, Xbox 1 and your own GameCube make better games? Oops I almost forgot to add a crucial fact to all of this...the Nintendo Wii is hands down outselling the competition at a blazing pace.

Well I'll tell you how...because the people who are buying the games don't know shit! They couldn't tell you what makes Metal Gear Solid Four a AAAA title. They don't know what makes a good game a good game. Nintendo knows this, so what do they do with the Wii? They release every piece-of-shit title that they can knowing that some dipshit 50 yr-old wants to showoff to his son's soccer team parent's that he not only has a Wii, but that he takes his "gaming" very seriously. Spouting out shit in between deep sweaty breaths while he stair-steps to Wii Fit, "Yeah from what I hear all the Wiis are sold out now! Yeah, well we got ours on the first day! Yeah. Oh and we didn't have to wait in line either! Nope. I have some connections down at Toys-R-Us. Yeah. Oh we also have like every game made for it too! Ya. It was a good thing I took our Hummer down to pick it up, because we needed all the room! Ya...it's pretty cool."

You catching my point by now hopefully. Being the gamer that I am, there is only one game that would make want to buy a Wii and that would be the first Super Mario Galaxy and it's sequel which will be coming out soon. Hey don't take my word for it...look at EA's sports games. Look at how Madden looks and plays on the PS3 and 360 compared to how it looks and plays on the Wii. Hell they don't even make a Wii version that matches the PS3 and 360! They "kidafy" the games by making it like five-on-five football where all the players have bobble heads and shit. If you take a look at almost every multi-platform game, the Wii versions are always cut waaaaaaaaaay back from the PS3 & 360 versions.

So where's the dilemma? I mean it's as if my mind is totally made up. But it's not, because I have love for Nintendo! I really do and when games like Super Mario Galaxy comes out, it rekindles that love that I grew up with. I'm just pissed that Nintendo sold it short just to make money, and it also proves that when art takes a backseat to money...quality fucking disappears! We're at a point were something like 6 or 7 out of every 10 Wii games are averaging sub-5 scores on a 1-to-10 scale!?!? That is horrible! Nintendo is going to find out a very valuable lesson about the regular and hardcore gamers and they're going to find out the hard way, that when it's all said and done, we propel the industry. We do! Here's what I mean (and this is just my opinion—this is based on proven recorded trends), when the fair-weather fans stop buying their Wiis and the games that go with it, the permanent base will not pick up the slack! We won't because why in the hell do we want to buy a console pumping out LoFi graphics with horribly designed games which don't even stand up to PS2 games while we're playing top-tier PS3 games that are blowing away buyers and critics alike? There's no point. Listen! The whole Wii Nunchuks thing is a total GIMMICK! It will fade, actually it's fading as we speak.

But...there's a chance if Nintendo wants to make it work. They need to start making AAAA games despite their costs (see the A and AA games are so cheap to make), lower the price of the Wii, make kick-ass new color+game packages like a sky blue Wii packaged with Super Mario Galaxy or Okami, get Rockstar to make you a Wii only GTA that actually kicks ass, bring Metroid back in a winning way, take two years to make a AAAA Zelda title, bring back the Japanese RPG, MAKE NEW GAMES THAT DO NOT NEED THE STUPID FUCKING NUNCHUKS AND INSTEAD USE A STANDARD STYLE REMOTE and I promise you that we'll all jump on board. Watch!

p.s. something like this...

I Just Knew That There Was More to the Air France Flight 447 Story!

So some breaking news that just came over the wire states: Air France Flight 447 received a bomb threat just days before the crash! ABC News confirmed that Air France did in fact receive a bomb threat over the phone concerning a flight from Buenos Aires-to-Paris days before Air France Flight 447 disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean Sunday night.

This is fucking crazy if you ask me. I mean what are the odds of a plane receiving a bomb threat and then that same plane just happens to crash all on it's own days after the threat was made!?!? WHAT ARE THE CHANCES!? They gotta be 1:1,000,000 at least! Think about it!

If you put this situation into different terms, imagine a person receiving a death threat, upon receiving this threat the person who we'll call John Smith contacts the police and let's them know he has been threatened. Two days later John Smith never comes home from work. After searching the local area and the route that he usually takes home from work, all the police find are a couple pieces of Mr. Smith's car. Taking into consideration that a death threat was made to John Smith, the fact that he is now missing and now pieces of his car are strewn about...I would be willing to bet that the police would open up a homicide case. I understand that a plane crashing is a much different situation than a missing man, but that doesn't hide the fact that there was a threat made on this very flight! Again...what are the chances that there is no connection?

I dearly hope that I am totally wrong and there was simply some sort of malfunction, and Air France Flight 447 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean all on it's own. Because at least you can chalk that up to fate or chance or an act of God or whatever you want to think or believe. But knowing that another "human beings" were responsible for killing hundreds of innocent people in such a cowardly way angers me and scares me at the same time. It scares me because more and more I find myself saying that I am seeing something that I never thought I would ever see in my lifetime once the Iron Curtain fell. And that would be the beginning of World War III. I am convinced that on September 11th, 2001 the beginning salvos of WWIII were "fired". The scary part is that our entire military infrastructure was and is designed to take on a Soviet Union or a People's Republic of China. It was not designed to fight tiny proxy wars all over the world in cramped little spaces which favor the native fighters. I'm afraid that the enemy needs to use civilians as both weapons and targets. I'm afraid that this new form of enemy will force our nation and our friends to fight in a manner which we do not like. No I am not talking about torture...no matter what's the fight we don't need to do that shit...no I'm talking about having our hand forced to bomb large targets in order to save ourselves. Because our enemies will hide amongst the common folk, we are going to be forced into making horrible decisions. Do we allow the enemy to continue on...or do we stop them and kill thousands of innocents at the same time? I don't like my own answer to this question.

You may be asking, "What in the hell does that last rant have to do with the subject of this post!?" My only response? Unfortunately it has everything to do with my last paragraph. Because if this does end up being an act of terrorism, then the stakes are being pushed up to a reality that no one wanted to see happen. And that would be that 9/11 was not a blur...no in fact 9/11 will become the measurement to which all enemy attacks against us will be measured. The use of civilians as weapons and targets will actually become the standard "military" weapon of our enemy. And if they can manage to rig a plane in a post-9/11 world, then it says a lot about their desires and their abilities.

I don't know what the hell is going on anymore. While I don't know for sure that AF-447 is a causality of terrorism—as I mentioned earlier—what would be the odds of a plane just happening to crash just days after receiving a bomb threat!? I mean talk about a coincidence eh? Well I just thought I'd post my thoughts about the bomb threat of AF-447, please include all 228 people in your thoughts and prayers.

p.s. By the way...something that's leaving me in a bad mood is the fact that so many reputable news sources can't even get the damn flight number correct! Some are listing it as Air France Flight 477! Come on people! It's a plane crash with over 200 people killed...the least you could do is get the flight number right.

What an NHL Version of 'Stockholm Syndrome' Has To Do With Hockey's Final Comeback

Before I get into this post I think I need to include a brief "The Last 10-yrs of the NHL" report, for those out there who wouldn't know what I'm talking about. In 2004 there was a labor dispute between NHL team owners and NHL players. The 2004–05 NHL lockout resulted in the cancellation of what would have been the 88th season of the National Hockey League. It was the first time the Stanley Cup was not awarded to a team and it's players since 1919, and the first time a major professional sports league in North America canceled a complete season because of a labor dispute. The lockout lasted 310 days starting September 16, 2004, the day after the collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and the NHL Players Association that resolved the 1994–95 lockout expired. The negotiating teams reached an agreement on July 13, 2005, and the lockout officially ended nine days later on July 22, after both the NHL owners and players ratified the collective bargaining agreement.

Ever since the resolution of the lockout the NHL has been in a constant battle trying to reestablish itself. I think that the latest lockout showed not only the NHL, but all of the other major professional sports leagues in North America, that NHL fans without a doubt are the most mature fans in North American pro sports! WTF am I talking about!? Well, look at it this way: The NBA goes on strike...six-months later it's as if nothing happened! The same stadiums that were sold-out pre-lockout are sold-out post-lockout. Player and team merchandise still moves out of the doors of professional sports apparel shops. And player approval ratings in some cases are actually higher than they were prior to the lockout! Almost as if fans are begging that player never to leave again—the fans acting like a desperate girlfriend so afraid of being alone that she allows "her man" to do whatever the fuck he wants to because anything is better than being alone! Look at what has happened since then! I am not alone when I criticize the NBA of having some of the most predictable style of play ever in the history of the sport. Before the NBA lockout many critics, fans, ex-players and coaches as well as some current players and coaches alike pointed out how the NBA has become nothing more than a game of isolation! Shooting percentages were (and still are) at all-time lows, good defenders a thing of the past and worst of all the league made new rules taking defense almost completely out of the game. It's as if the league thought that good defense alone was the reason why teams couldn't make it to the 100pt mark anymore. So it made new rules that made it impossible for defenders to stop isolation plays. And now we have teams that let their one or two main players cut to the basket over and over and over again blah blah blah. It's fucking lame.

Scores have gone up, but there's no drama like there used to be and the NBA Finals favorites find themselves in first from season's start-to-season's end. Ever since Michael Jordan retired, the ratings for the NBA's Finals have dropped! Rivalries are now based on bench-clearing brawls versus the 120-118 game 7 win from last year's Eastern Conference Semi-Finals! The reason why the NBA sucks is because of two main reasons—one of which I mentioned earlier—1.) instead of letting a new "Jordan" develop into their own game, the NBA tried to force feed us Kobe as the "Next Jordan" or D. Wade as the "Next Jordan" or as it is now LeBron James is the "Next Jordan". So what the league did was craft the "new NBA" using new rules trying to make those players just mentioned play and even look like Jordan. It should have just let the league adjust on it's own, and let the Kobe's and James' become who they are now...Kobe and LeBron James...and 2.) Because NBA fans are mainly two type of people, those who are so obsessed with their teams that they don't care how crappy they look just as long as their team is the best of the crap and it's also the 12-16yr olds who love wearing the Anthony jersey and tune in to see who can dunk the best. For whatever reason, the NBA is happy with their steady yet now declined ratings. Good for them!

Hockey fans on the other hand are total pains-in-the-ass! They also have a set standard that they expect from their sport and if it's not happening, then they don't watch and they don't attend games! The beauty of this is that the fans dictate how the league is run! WOW! Imagine that...the good old fashioned Capitalism model on display everyday in the NHL! Oh the irony if you think about it; the majority of the rosters in the NHL are dominated by players from Socialists or at least "Socialistic" nations.

Anyway, as usual I'm getting waaaaaaay off my point here. The NHL has been doing all the right things since 2004-05. And while it hasn't been a speedy recovery, it has been a recovery nonetheless and a great one at that! The balance between great scoring and great goal tending is in my opinion at an all-time high! And while there are some bad teams there is a huge handful of high-quality teams that all seem to make the playoffs and end up seeding right where they should be seeded! Last but definitely not least is status of the "NHL Elite Players". The NHL has long prided itself on always having a core-group of dominant offensive players balanced out by dominant defensemen and goalies. Today is no different.

I guess the reason why I am writing this post is because I was upset with the NHL since the 2004-05 lockout, but thanks to the league being by far the most fan friendly coupled with nothing but the highest quality of play, I have become a bigger fan now than I was before! Why? Because unlike the NBA or MLB which put in a half ass attempt to get to pre-lockout or pre-strike levels of mediocre play paired with players getting popped for 'roids and other enhancements, the NHL has been putting in all it can to make the league better than it's ever been before. And in my opinion, this season displays all of the hard work that the NHL has been putting into itself over the last four years.

To me it's without a doubt a double-edged-sword type of season! As I mentioned, hands down one of the best seasons on tap in over twenty years! And from a personal stand point, this has been one of the best seasons ever for my favorite club, the Vancouver Canucks! However that said, it hasn't been the "perfect season" because of one thing—the Chicago Blackhawks! After sweeping the St. Louis Blues in the first round, and having the 'Hawks come to Vancouver with the Canucks enjoying another home ice series...Chicago belted my boys in six tough games, leaving all of us Canucks fans wondering, "Was this the year!?"

This is what I meant when I wrote an NHL version of Stockholm Syndrome. It's a really weird thing, but I now find myself rooting for Chicago against Detroit almost as much as I root for my beloved Canucks (now I said almost). Is it because I want to be able to say that Vancouver lost to the would-be champs? Hell no! I hate that theory and I have always hated that theory. No I am rooting for Chicago because in many ways they represent the NHL. An old team full of history as Chicago represents one of the NHL's "Original Six" (Montréal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks) who had fallen on hard times, then built themselves up from nothing, has some of the best young talent in the league, they're tough motherfuckers who know how to play blue-collar hockey. Right now they're in the middle of trying to add an upset to one the most upset-filled NHL playoff seasons in recent memory. It all started in the first round with the eighth-seeded Anaheim Ducks taking down the number one seeded San Jose Sharks, then the Pittsburgh Penquins beat the #2 D.C. Capitols, and the sixth-seeded Carolina Hurricanes beat the #1 Boston Bruins, and finally the 4th seeded Chicago Blackhawks beat up on my three-seed Canucks.

If you get a chance to read this, keep your eyes on the Chicago Blackhawks. Michael Jordan is proud of his favorite hockey team for good reason...win or lose they represent the NHL in it's full comeback as one of North America's best professional sports league.

OMG I Wanted to Mentally Rock This Motherfucker Today!

Today is just one of those days ya know? Here's what's pissing me off today.

So you know those people who think that they're really-really smart, but in actuality they're as mediocre as it gets? They're also social-retards who have spent their entire life being that one kid! All they really had to hold on to was their intelligence that they think they acquired from reading all those books while it was sunny and 80° outside. I mean don't get me wrong! Despite my lousy writing-skills I read like a madman! I love it! It's the closest thing I have to meditating. That said, I spent 90% of my childhood playing outside—sun or rain.

I'm getting so off topic, and my thoughts are all buzzing around. So there's these people right!? Who by now, after college, they might have some sort of life. You know, a core group of friends, maybe even a significant other. But they're still social-retards, it's just that the rest of the world—unlike back in elementary school—can no longer point that wagging finger in their faces just to remind them that they're just plain weird. Real quick side trek, I just want to make the point that those kids who did all the finger pointing...ya well most of them are hopefully dead by now! Hopefully anyway. Those kids fucking sucked cock. That said, there's no taking away from the fact that those little assholes loved pointing out that the social-retards....were well, socially retarded!

The thing that drives me absolutely up the fucking wall these days, are those mousy little fuckers who think that they're so goddamn smart and better than everyone, when in reality they're the idiots who are always the person explaining to the cop, "I never saw it coming! I don't know how they knew what time I got home everyday...I don't even know how they knew my name!" (sob-sob *snot running from nose)

I think it stems from the fact that their parents were forced to console their crying child who locked themselves in the closet. And one of the things that they probably told their kid was, "Look Tommy, don't cry son...those bullies do what they do because they're upset that you're so much smarter than them honey!"

Now in regards to those finger-wagging-little-bastard-future-jock-date-rapists, that was probably true! The problem with this is that as they grew older they just assumed that was the answer and solution to all of life's problems. They grew up thinking that the reason why everyone acted so awkward around them was because they were all just jealous because they weren't as smart as them.

Oh my God it makes me nuts! The worst is when it's someone whom you know isn't intellectually superior, but they act like they are because it's what they have been telling themselves their entire life! I see it a lot because my girlfriend is not only extremely polite and upbeat, but she's also a blonde! I see people talking down to her ALL THE TIME! When in reality Alicia is one of the smartest if not the smartest person I have ever met and trust me that's saying a lot! To see people talk down to her makes me wanna snap, and either beat the snot out of them, or start up an intellectual debate about the finer nuances of European Socialism versus American Libertarianism.

Oh well...I needed to vent this shit off of my chest. I had a guy at the post-office today just really pull this elitist type attitude with me I guess because I was wearing cargo-shorts, flip-flops and a baseball cap so he must have boxed me in as a dumb fuck. I felt like saying, dude just because you read the entire 'Twilight' saga in two weeks doesn't mean you're smart you asshole! It means that you learned at a very early age that you're bad at making friends and even worse when it comes to communicating with strangers!

Okay...if you've made it this far it means that you're probably one of my friends and you know that I'll quiz you later as to whether or not you read this latest post! I KNOW I SUCK AT WRITING...IT'S NEVER BEEN MY STRONG POINTS. NOW IF I WERE ALLOWED TO MAKE A FILM CENTERED AROUND THIS GRIPE...OH THEN I KNOW IT WOULD BE THE MOST-AWESOMEST-EVER!

No but seriously, I really wonder how long I'll go before I launch into a tirade against one of these fuckers, especially when I catch them talking down to Alicia. She's makes me look like a simpleton...I can only imagine the look on one of their faces if she were to drop her disciplined morals and just go off on one of these people, turning them into mental Swiss cheese!

Thanks for suffering through this one peeps!

-JJ

*steps off soapbox

Hey G.O.P.! A Little Reality Check While Your Party is Dissolving!

I was reading an article in yesterday's New York Times (front page, April 30th) titled, "G.O.P. Debate: A Broader Party or a Purer One?"

Over the last couple of months I've started to notice that Republicans have been rallying to some of their party's core "values" such as: small government (where in the fuck where they over the last eight years is a mystery by me) and the one that really gets me...individual liberties!

When I hear Neocons talk about "the rights of the people" and when I hear Glenn Beck talk about how liberals want a government who will run their lives for them, it makes me want to wait outside whatever T.G.I. Friday's he frequents and shove eight years worth of newspaper articles down his soft, white, fish belly-like, Manfant* throat!

This is no opinion of mine as I have history on my side in this debate. Republicans have had an overwhelming history of supporting the most intrusive kind of government — a government that dictates how a woman manages reproduction, that meddles in end-of-life decisions, interferes in domestic and contractual relations between consenting adults, and wiretaps its own citizens without warrants.

A large share of the Republican problem is stunning intellectual crookedness!

So next time you're listening to some hate-monger like Michael Alan Weiner aka "Michael Savage" talk about nasty socialists Democrat liberals who want to enter your home and tell you how to live make sure you pick up your phone and set that little motherfucker straight! No pun intended as I am almost positive that all of the hardcore right-wingers who openly hate gays on the airwaves are probably gay themselves! This would explain why they spend so much of their own time and energy trying to prove to the rest of the world that they are the furthest thing from queer.

*a Manfant are these overweight, white, right-wingers who look like little babies that never fully developed into men. If you start to pat attention you will notice that anytime you see one of these men who are pasty white, plump, losing hair, have fat cheeks, and pig noses are almost always conservative Republican Neocons! Not just Republicans! Ohhhh no! I'm talking Neocons! The kind of right-winger who HATES everything that isn't closed in and homogenized! Foreigners (because they're here to steal the country away), gays (because they're afraid that all gay men have some sort of psychic ability and that just by looking at them they'll [gays] know all about those hundreds if not thousands of gay fantasies that they've jerked off to), black men (because of their big dicks) and liberals (because we're smarter than them). I'm fucking serious about this people! Look at them! Think about Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck or Dick Cheney. If saw one of them walking around in huge diapers with a pacifier in their mouth I wouldn't be shocked...not in the slightest. It's almost as if they're spending their entire life trying to recreate a womb-like existence. If you ever get the chance, pick up a book titled, 'Don't Think of an Elephant' by Prof. George Lakoff. It's a great book all about framing your debate and how Neocons had been getting away with shit under the last eight years of G.W. Bush because they knew who to properly frame their debates. It's a quick-read as it's more of a "how to" book (which thankfully we Dems took up because if you notice, we frame our debates in much more powerful ways and in the last three years we have been kicking the shit outta the Neocons all over this great nation of ours!). The reason why I brought up this book though is because Professor George Lakoff teaches cognitive linguistics at Cal and in the beginning of the book he talks about the basic difference between conservatives and liberals and how this difference centers around cons always looking for that father-figure so that they have something to fear and impress upon while libs are looking for the motherly-figure who will raise them with love and allow the village to help raise a child so that the entire community grows together and thus creating a stronger village. Well this whole conservative model hints that they're very afraid of the unknown and while it may sound silly, I find it hard to call it a coincidence that their appearance many times echoes that of a baby...scared of the cold unknown or the stranger who might hurt them. Something to think about eh!? ;)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://inventoryreport.blogspot.com/2009/05/hey-gop-little-reality-check-while-your.html' title='Hey G.O.P.! That would be fucking intense and I honestly think that it would change the way I look at Wendy's hamburgers!

Ride "shotgun" with the Russian Spetsnaz throughout Chechnya! Mainly because I am obsessed with both the <s>war</s> conflict there as well as the Russian special-forces known as Spetsnaz. It absolutely blows me the.fuck.away that most Americans have NO idea that there's a <s>war</s> conflict going on there. Oh and as far as "What in the hell are Spetsnaz?" Only some of the baddest motherfuckers on the entire planet! These guys are so goddamn hardcore that they once had a plan set in place by some at-the-time current and ex-Spetsnaz to HIJACK AN AMERICAN NAVY AIRCRAFT CARRIER! No joke! I'm serious. They were going to pay any U.S. sailor who agreed to help out something like a cool million (I forget the exact amount) and then they were going to storm the ship, try to overtake the Marines on board, hide the sucker in the Pacific and then try to sell it to China (so that they could tear it apart and reverse-engineer it) or sell it to some rouge-state for the ship and all of the aircraft on board. Would it have worked? Not in a million fucking years...but that's not the point...they're a bunch of bad asses!

I would like to be the first to film Hannah Montana's very first porno-movie in about five years. It will be after her star has faded and she needs the pron to get her name back onto the public's lips. Then hopefully she'll get picked up on what will be VH1's Sober House VII (which interestingly will still be featuring all of the current cast).

Break into Dick Cheney's secret "casket" (Uh okay LISTEN! This is not a fabrication on my part! The guy seriously had a 6½ foot tall piano-finish...BOX...in his office the entire time he was Vice President and no one knew what it had in it or even what the fuck it was for!). Well I not only want to break into it, I would like to power it down and then wait with bated-breath to see what happens next! Oh and I would probably find out: who killed JFK, RFK & MLK, what in the hell happened at Roswell, New Mexico back in 1947, how many bases are on the dark side of the moon, how much money George H.W. Bush, Dick Cheney & Donald Rumsfeld made off of all of the no-bid Halliburton contracts during the Iraq "War", just exactly who came up with the idea of letting 9/11 happen so that as a nation we could in fact invade Iraq using 9/11 as an excuse even though they all knew that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, who is behind all of the cattle-mutilations (it's of course Dick Cheney flying around in a state-of-the-art hydrogen-powered silent aircraft which was given to us from aliens who hail from the Zeta Reticuli, which is a binary star system which is located about 39 light years away from Earth...every two-to-three months depending on how much he manages to feed...Dick flys from farm-to-farm and when he finds cattle which is away from the farmhouse...he lands and then using high-tech laser surgery equipment, he gorges himself on the raw flesh and internal organs of the cow and then enjoys the cow's genitalia and eyeballs as dessert) and finally I'll find out that Major League Baseball is fucking FIXED!!

Learn how to take down an Arab terrorist from an ex-Navy Seal! (umm...pretty self-explanatory if you ask me!)

Last but definitely not least...I would love to finally see Al Davis (owner and head-coach of the Oakland Raiders) finally get busted for forcing his team's starters to molest teenage boys (mostly California State Congressional pages from Sacramento) while he watches and simultaneously pleasures himself. He's a sick-sick fuck who needs to go down ("go down" in a legal sense of course--the guy looks like a fucking corpse which has clawed it's way out of the grave--I don't think anyone on this planet would want to see Al Davis go down on anybody or anything for that matter)!

Well that's about it I think. Ohhhhhh shit wait! I almost forgot...I also want to see these movies sometime soon:

'Tokyo!'

'Adventureland'

'Hunger'

'Sunshine Cleaning'

There...okay now my life would be complete!

My New Hero Nate Silver Over at www.FiveThirtyEight.com

I know that I haven't posted jackshit about our victory in this year's election and then here I am posting something that had everything to do with the election, but I just wanted to get it off my chest. I know it's been all over the news and this is nothing new, but I found the most wonderful site this year and I know how everyone likes to say that they listened to whatever band way back when before anyone else did, but when it comes to http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ I can say that I was starting every morning with a site visit before anyone was talking about it. Why does that even matter? Because it proves that I'm a smart sunuvabitch who is also extremely cool!

Nate Silver who started 538.com is a freaking genius who just about nailed EVERYTHING re: the 2008 election...not just the Obama victory. But speaking of the Obama-Biden victory real quick, when everyone else (Joe Scarborough on MSNBC) was saying that all of us Dems should be pouring cold water all over our election hard-ons because it was not only going to be close, but that there was a "very good chance" that McCain-Palin was going to win the whole thing just like Reagan did versus Carter, Nate Silver was asking "what the fuck are you talking about!?" and had this thing called for Obama back in September. Not only was he right he called the electoral-college and the popular vote basically totally correct! He got 49 out of 50 states correctly called and got every single senate race correct.

How did he do it? I could explain but I'd rather you go to the site and learn the right way. So check out http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ and learn how liberals do things when it comes to polls. Add up everybody and stop giving the same amount of attention to a 4 year old poll which always leans to the right as you would a 50 year old poll which never leans either way. Silver adds all of the polls together...gives different weights depending on that polls' history and voila! Polls that not only make sense, but results that you can count on.

Here's my final props to Silver and his project. I am completely convinced that because of the media coverage that 538.com received and because of how the accuracy of 538.com was reported, I think that 538.com had a lot to do with certain "no-do-gooders" were forced to stay the fuck away from election-fraud because the press would have actually had data to use and ask too many questions. In 2000 and 2004 there wasn't a site which received 5,000,000+ hits reporting on nothing but polls and the accuracy of them. It doesn't hurt that the website is sporting a 90%+ accuracy rating when it comes to the polls' results. It would have caused a mighty stir had Pennsylvania ended up going to McCain and by 2% when 538.com had it going to Obama and by 6%. Think I'm full-of-it!? Thinking that I'm crazy!? How could there have been a stir just because a website got it wrong!? Well because said website was being touted by all of the experts as being "ON THE MONEY" and not to mention all of the other polls being dead on and quoted by MSNBC, CNN, and even FAUX...err...FOX News. "They" knew that if they wanted the same results as in 2000 and 2004 that they would have to now go after numerous states rather than just one. And nobody (at this time anyway) has the power and/or the resources to change that many totals.

So thank you 538.com! You did your country a great service and as Thom Hartmann would say, good on ya!

Okay...so I have totally fucked my blog over!

So what's new!? See ya for Christmas man.

Rhode Island drivers can suck my cock!

Just a quick rant/vent here to make me feel a little better. I just wanted to go on the record and declare that Rhode Islanders are the worst fucking drivers I.HAVE.EVER.SEEN.IN.MY.ENTIRE.LIFE!

Issue #1: What is wrong with you people? My biggest complaint is also the first thing I started to notice after moving here. When you're sitting at a red light waiting to turn left, what do you do when the light turns green and there's oncoming traffic? YOU YIELD right!? Why do you yield? Because it's the fucking law! And because it's the law, the people who are in the oncoming traffic DO.NOT.STOP nor do they plan on stopping. What do Rhode Islanders do? As soon as the light turns green they bust out their left and turn right in front of you (if you're going straight through a green light). Yesterday I took off on a green light going forward through the light and this assfuck turns right in front of me almost hitting me. Because it's my legal right-of-way and because I still cannot believe the attitude of people out here...I continue forward. The other driver thinking he had the right of way flipped me off, slammed on his horn, and acted as if he was going to make a u-turn a follow me to kick my ass. Before I move on to the next point, keep in mind that I guarantee that you WILL see it at least once a day if you keep your eyes open.

Issue #2: Oh this is great. So while on the freeway, people drive 55 mph - 60 mph in the fast lane when the speed limit is 65 mph, but drive 45 mph - 50 mph in a parking lot or a 20 mph school zone! These people are fucking retards. They're slow when you're supposed to go fast, and fucking maniacs when you need to be careful as I mentioned earlier in places like school zones and parking lots where there's children and people walking around. Oh and one side-note regarding the freeway, I think the state suffers from some form of bi-polar driving condition! As if no one knows what the fuck they want or should be doing out on the roads. Example: You're in the left lane sitting behind two people doing 55 mph, meanwhile you have some fucking guido douche bag in his Nissan (always a Nissan out here) riding up on your ass even though they would be able to clearly see that there are two cars in front of you had they had the intelligence to look ahead of you. NOPE! They'd rather put themselves and your life in danger even though you have no way of bashing the cars in front of you out of the way.

Issue #3 & #4: While traveling down a major boulevard be prepared for people to wait until the very last moment before they pull out in front of you and drive about 5 mph too slow! It makes no sense. Here's the scary part, even if you're not in the right lane, you're still in danger from these people!! For some reason Rhode Islanders act like 16 year olds who have only been driving for weeks! What am talking about? So you're on said blvd but this time, traveling in the left lane...safe from people pulling out of parking lots and intersections right? WRONG! They DO NOT turn into the closest lane! They take these huge rolling arcs of turns that deposits them into the left lane.

Issue #5: So this next problem is more of a cause & effect issue, but still shows off the shitty driving skills of "Rhodies". For some stupid reason, they do not have middle turn lanes painted into boulevards! Which makes it tricky when you need to turn left into a parking lot, especially when there is oncoming traffic. That said, because I am a decent driver, I make a judgment call when I know I need to turn left into a parking lot. If there is a ton of oncoming-traffic and a bunch of cars behind me...I'll continue on to the next lighted intersection, so I can do a U-turn and put no one in danger. Do Rhode Islanders do this? Fuck no they don't. They just stop in the middle of traffic backing up traffic to the last intersection waiting to turn left into a FUCKING DUNKIN DONUTS! They especially love to do it when there is a lane that turns right into a left lane off of an intersection making this fun little "waiting game" an actual dangerous situation! You'll commonly see this all taking place with a green-arrow left turn light just 100 to 200 feet away.

Issue #6: People out here, especially dudes, LOVE to peel out and spin their tires as they take off IN.PARKING.LOTS. just meters from little kids or old ladies! Just today I saw this ingrate do it and issue #4, just to have to slam on his brakes because as he pulled out in front of a car already traveling on West Main Rd, the light he was turning into...turned red.

I just realized that I could on, but really, what's the point!? I've made my case right? Then all of a sudden I found this little gem! Check out this article put out by GMAC (*coughs the auto insurance industry *coughs) that I found people: Best and Worst Drivers by State Notice that 1st & 2nd are Oregon and Washington (with Idaho at 4th making the Pacific Northwest hands down the best region for drivers who KNOW.WHAT.THE.FUCK.THEY'RE.DOING.), and WOW!! Imagine that!?!? Which state is DEAD LAST!? That's right...Rhode-fucking-Island. So now I'm not crazy. Oh and just a little side-note, 2nd to worst is Massachusetts, New York is 4th worst, and Connecticut is 6th worst...New Englanders can't drive worth shit. I don't know how an entire region could be this bad, but I'm thinking that they need to spend a little bit more money on teaching their kids how to drive in high school. Oh and before I start hearing about the condition of the roads or how cramped the populations are here, I have two responses: 1) that recent study I linked you to shows you what people in the states KNOW about driving i.e. rights of way, lane change rules, speeding laws, etc and 2) I grew up and learned how to drive on the roads and freeways of Los Angeles, so I don't want to hear shit about crowded streets and cities. Get over it...you people suck and don't know how to drive.

*steps off soap box....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh to vent....now I feel better.

I made it...

Hello all! This will be short & sweet. I promise.

I finally made it back east to my new home in Rhode Island to live w/ my sweetie (Alicia). So far everything is great with the exception of one thing. I'm sick as a dog. It's a weird cold (hoping if anyone else out there has the same symptoms that you'll let me know), because one minute I'll feel almost totally okay, and then all of a sudden my temp goes up, the cold-sweats start, and then I'm totally feeling like shit! It's affecting my sleep, which in turn is making me kind of an ass as the day wears on. :(

Other than that though, things are sweet. Alicia and I are running around for various things: xmas, stuff for the apt, coffee, xmas lights up in Massachusetts, dinner, etc. So I am getting to know my way around (a little). It's nice to finally be able to spend my day with my girlfriend like a normal couple versus the whole long-distance thing. We're actually being able to do something that we have been talking about for almost a year...playing video-games together! Haha. No, seriously...that's a big deal to us. Speaking of video-games, Alicia and I are totally bummed-out though because we really want a Nintendo Wii, but the only ones that are available are the huge bundle-packs which cost waaaaaaaaay too much $$ for us right now. Once Christmas is over though, you can bet your ass that we'll have that Wii hooked up ASAP!! We decided to splurge and got ourselves a 40" Samsung HDTV for our apartment! I.CANNOT.EFF'ING.WAIT! Seriously. The 360 and Wii will look sick on that thing.

Right now we're living at Alicia's townhouse that she shares w/ her mamma (Pat) until December 5th. After that, we'll be on our own in our brand-new apartment! We cannot wait. Feel free to send us stuff! < click link for a great idea for a house-warming gift] ;)

Okay, well I promised this would be short & sweet. Besides I need to try to get some sleep now. My body temperature feels normal right now and I should try to take advantage of it and hit the hay.

Keep your eyes peeled...I'm feeling "bloggy" now that winter has arrived. Take care ya'll and please don't forget to write.

-Jason

Rhode Islander

So just a little heads-up...I am now a Rhode Islander! It's been quite a while since I have last blogged. I ended up moving to Rhode Island to be with my girl (Alicia). So far so good! I think I am going to like Rhode Island, a lot actually. The climate is right up my alley, no matter where you go, you're not more than thirty-minutes from the ocean (it's called the Ocean State after all), I like the "small state" feel while being right down the road from Boston and NYC, the entire state is lefty-blue, and last but not least...I get to see my girl everyday.

I'll write more soon...I haven't been very "Bloggy" of late. Just As I Expected

I'll admit that I am somewhat of a conspiracy theorist at times. I'm pretty middle of the road though. For instance:

While I don't buy the government's official JFK assassination explanation, I do believe that we (the United States) actually went to and landed on the moon

All of the short sells (or "puts") that were placed with the NYSE in United Airlines stock, American Airlines stock and a host of other companies severely affected by the 9/11 attacks just days before those events actually happened makes me believe that certain people knew what was coming and made millions of dollars off of the murders. But I don't believe that the pyramids were built by aliens from U.F.O.'s

I am pretty damn sure that the National Terror Alert Warning was used as a tool for the President during the 2004 election. Anytime Bush's rating took a hit--BADABING--the alert went to orange or worse, red. Guess what would always happen next? You guessed it, an uptick-spike in his rating. (CLICK HERE FOR GRAPH). Now that said, I do not think that the CFR, Trilateral Commission or the Freemason's run the planet. Well actually I kinda do now that I think about it.

Basically what I am trying to get at is that I am not one of those people who thinks every conspiracy that passes into my ears is true. Don't ask me why I am defending myself, I guess that I just feel the need to say that I give it some thought. Obviously I'm setting you up for something. This latest possible conspiracy that I think actually holds water is GAS PRICES!

Here's the deal people. About a month-and-a-half ago prices at the pump started to tumble and tumble hard. There were days when there would actually be an ¢0.11 p/gal drop in the price. In one day! News reports started flying in with statments from the actual oil companies and the White House itself saying that the huge price dips were based on slightly cheaper crude as well as an economic boost for the upcoming holiday season. Okay cool. I can understand that. The cheaper crude prices thing was bullshit, but I can buy the economic stimulator reason...it makes sense and governments of free-markets do that kind of stuff all the time. After all we do a ton of shopping and traveling during the holidays and what would help us out more than cheaper trips to the store, cheaper food in the aisles thanks to lowered diesel prices and lets not forget cheaper airline fares to go see Grandma down in Los Angeles. I get it.

So five weeks go by and I'm still seeing the gas prices fall when something funny happens. That something was the Democrats handing the Republicans their asses on a platter! Guess what happened the very next day!? The gas prices went back up. Holy SHIT...imagine that!? Shoulda saw it comin! Give me a fucking break. How more obvious can you people be? "Holiday Economic Stimulus" huh? Oh really? I mean, look I had my suspicions, but I figured they wouldn't dare be that in your face about it. These people have zero shame. It all makes sense now. Let's not kid ourselves, ever since Ronald Reagan took over in 1980 oil companies have fallen in love with Republicans! It's a simple fact. Exxon and Mobile have been the biggest contributorsto Right-Wing campaigns ever since good 'ol Ronny started giving them tax breaks. In other words they're both in each other's back pockets (the Repubs and big oil). So here's how I think it all went down 45-days before the elections. Oh and before I forget, 45-days before the midterm election is right about when solid and trusted polls started hitting the scene showing widespread Democrat leads in key races. Big Oil knowing that a Democratic controlled Congress would spell disaster for them in the next two years and the Republicans seeing that they were way behind in races they would have never expected to be behind in--got together. They needed each other. So what happened? Dramatic drop in gas prices, which if you look over the last six-years meant huge perks in Bush/Republican approval ratings. Well this time it didn't work. Americans got used to paying the $2.50 p/gal at the pump. What pissed us off was: the illegal war, 2,800-dead soldiers, 300,000+ dead Iraqi civilians, Congressional scandals (sex & money), the Jack Abramoff scandal, Donald Rumsfeld and host of other things that cheaper gas couldn't fix.

Look I'm going off too far when I really shouldn't have to. They told us the cheap prices were for the holidays, and when the end-result didn't come through from them, what was the fucking use!? Prices went back to normal. It's right in front of our faces. If you give it just some simple thought, it's absolutely ridiculous that we put up with it. What's really screwed is how obvious they are about it. Hey if you think about it, it's our fault! We're the ones that have made it this easy for them.

Aloha

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://inventoryreport.blogspot.com/2006/11/uh-huh-just-as-i-expected.html' title='Uh Huh! Seriously!

On November 27th and 29th Fox's network (not their news channel) will air a two part interview with O.J. Simpson. That's bad, but whatever, it's Fox and they have never cared about integrity on either one of their main channels. But what makes this particular interview so goddamn sleazy is the fact that O.J. is pushing a new book! A book titled If I Did It and in the two-part "event", Simpson will describe how he would have carried out the murders had he actually did it. Give me a fucking break Fox. I couldn't help but ask myself why in the hell would Fox give this guy not only a place to talk, but a place to SELL A FUCKING BOOK!?!?!? Then a little Internet research answered all of my questions. If I Did It is published by Regan Books. Guess who owns Regan Books Publishing? A "little" company called News Corp. Guess what else News Corp owns? You guessed it, the Fox Network. How sick are these people? I'll leave all that up to you, but if you watch the two-hour long--two-day event which is essentially a commercial by Fox to sell a book by O.J. Simpson where he talks about how he would have killed his wife, then you're an idiot who might as well drive off a cliff. Sorry, just my opinion, but if you would actually help people like this (both the killer and the corporation) make even a dime then you deserve whatever bad happens in your life. If you think we accomplished something over there based on this death sentence then you clearly don't read the goddamn news. This verdict just opened up the hell-box thanks to the fact that Iraq is more violent now then it was four years ago. The Sunnis are going to raise the violence to a whole new level. This wasn't worth the deaths and billions of dollars we spent. You're being lied to and if you let this latest Saddam news influence your vote in any positive way towards this Bush administration then you're clearly a tool who should of volunteered your life just so we could bring Saddam to trial which is by the way, a duty of the world (i.e. United Nations), not ours!

Vote with your brain, not your twitch-reflex to a crafted news story.

Hope all is well and don't forget to vote.

World news tid-bits + my opinions

I was reading through today's New York Times (Nov. 2) and came across these little morsels on news. Thought I'd share (my thoughts in italics).

NORTHERN IRELAND: $95 BILLION 'PEACE DIVIDEND' Britain held out the prospect of $95 Billion (yes with a 'b') for economic reconstruction in Northern Ireland over the next decade if it's political adversaries agree to a power sharing government in the province. The parties must accept or reject the formula by Nov. 10. I'll be honest, I don't know what to make of this offer by Britain and I don't really know how Northern Ireland will respond. I mean $95 billion is a lot of money especially since it will be divided up over only ten years. But more importantly is this Britain's way of admitting that it has no hope at all for figuring out the "Irish Problem"? Things have definatally been better since the late-90's but in case you haven't been paying attention, there's still a very strong and passionate resistance on part of the Irish to be just that...Irish. On the flip side, the IRA and other anti-British groups must be prepared to admit defeat at some point. I think short of turning Ireland into a third-world war zone similar to Iraq, there really is no hope for total independence. So what do you do? Take that money and invest it into the community and bring Northern Ireland into the fray? Or do you tell London to take your dirty money and shove it right up your bloody English asses!? Somehow I think cooler heads will prevail in Belfast and they'll accept the cash. Of course that means an agreement to share the power that they're still fighting over today. Keep your eyes open on this one.

FINLAND: ALCOHOL NOW THE NO. 1 KILLER Alcohol became the prime killer of Finnish men last year, ahead of cardiovascular disease, accidents and cancer. In women it was the second most common cause of death, after, and almost even with, breast cancer. The national statistics office said that 27.7% of the deaths among 15- to 64-year-old men last year were attributed to a chronic excess of alcohol consumption or to alcoholic poisoning. Wow, I had no eff'ing clue that Fins got loose like that. I mean to become no. 1 and no. 2 respectively as killers in your country, you gotta be doing a lot of fucking drinking. Man oh' man. Anyway, I don't really have much else to add to this last one, except that I want to go to Helsinki now!

Well that's all for now...stay tuned for more international news since I know KOIN channel 6 here in Portland won't be covering the decision in Northern Ireland. Stay warm.

How's that for irony...

Two quick thoughts on yesterdays John Kerry--White House War of Words.

Just in case you hadn't heard the White House jumped all over John Kerry for making an off the cuff remark about being stupid and serving in Iraq. I simplified and misquoted on purpose just to make the situation even more ridiculous and to bring a little light onto the games that these neo-con bastards play. Here's the exact quote that John Kerry made while visiting Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California yesterday.

[Quick note and I don't mean to lead, but I read Kerry's quote before reading what the White House and general neo-con media outlets claimed as anti-troop and anti-American and while it was a chopped-up statment, I knew what Kerry was trying to get across. Then I read what the complaints where all about and it became obvious that they're reaching for straws w/ only one week left before election day.]

Kerry opened his speech with several one-liners, saying at one point that Mr. Bush had lived in Texas but now "lives in a state of denial." He then said:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your
homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you
get stuck in Iraq."

Now...here's the deal. When you exclude the "joke" from the rest of his speech, ya it sounds like he's making the point that if you do bad in school, you'll have to join the military and you'll end up in a mess like Iraq. Which isn't a dishonest observation by the way. Not a point a politician should make I guess, but if that was what Kerry meant to say, he would have been telling the truth. But all that's neither here nor there because the joke was clearly a bash on Bush since it was said in one continuous motion after the "state of denial" comment. Kerry was referencing the fact that Bush had attended Yale and clearly does not show much of an Ivy League education. So the neo-con propaganda machine took full advantage of a quote by slicing it's head off and serving it up as is. Touche.

My two quick opinions on this mess:

How ironic is it, that G.W. Bush of all people is jumping on Kerry for what he claims as a botched up statement!? Bush is the KING of fucking up speeches and jokes. There's three best-selling books published containing nothing but Bush fucking up speeches. The man who once said of terrorists, "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." So thanks for wasting your own time Mr. President, but listening to you point the finger at someone for hacking up a statement is like letting someone blindfold me and then having a blind-person guide me across the street. No thanks

To John Kerry, please don't try to tell jokes. Please! You're horrible at it. You have no business trying to be funny...look at what happened. Like Arianna Huffington suggested, leave the political joke telling to the John Stewarts and Stephen Colberts of the world. You couldn't do it in 2003-2004 and you certainly can't do it now. Stick to what you're good at: maintaining your seat in Congress, picking running-mates who are better qualified than yourself and not defending yourself during presidential campaigns. Which leads me to one more "bash" on Kerry. Why didn't you show this type of tenacity during the presidential campaign when the righties attacked you? Why is it now, that you publicly call people like Rush and Hannity "Right-wing hacks"!? You should have done this three years ago.

Well just thought I'd chime in on one of the last efforts of the right with less than a week to go.

Have a good one everyone and don't forget to VOTE.

What is he--on dope!?

"Rumsfeld is the best thing that's happened to the Pentagon in 25 years. Yes I know summer ended weeks ago, but by officially I mean that fall finally feels like it's here. Obviously a big part of this feeling has to do with the end of daylight-savings. It's now dark by 5:00 pm.

To be honest I love it. I was getting pretty sick of the 90-degree days followed by über-humid nights that made getting to sleep a pain in the ass.

Sunday had autumn written all over it. It was blustery, chilly and as I mentioned before--dark by five-o-clock. Football was on; yellow leaves were blowing around the street, a fire was in the fireplace and a comfortable dinner that included soup was all a part of my official start to fall.
So I got to thinking. What is it about this time of the year that makes a lot of us get this way? There always seems to be a slight sense of excitement within some of the people I know around this time. Maybe it's a part of our natural biological clocks. Maybe it dates back to the harvest-time of our ancestors and now is just a part of our genetic code. I don't think it's really a weather thing (although I think that the weather helps) because I used to live in Pasadena, California where--trust me--the daily temperature in October isn't hovering around 29-degrees, and I remember getting all giddy in October.

Well all said and done, by mid-November when we here in the Portland area will be ass deep in day after day of rain, my tune will probably have dramatically changed. But for now, I'm happy. I'm enjoying the cold and crisp short days of late October. I'm looking forward to Halloween and visting some freaky-ass haunted church with the "Bobs" while sipping hot-toddies and wearing layers of clothes.

Check in later for my special Why I Love the Start of Winter edition. I know a lot of you can predict how that one will turn out! It has been scandal after scandal (both sexual & financial) frosted over the biggest foreign-policy debacle cake since the Vietnam War--commonly known as the Iraq War.

Iraq War: The war that 69% of Americans say need a total overhaul. The same war that just topped 100 KIA (Killed In Action) Americans for the month of October, making it the third deadliest month since the war started. The same war that just received an OK from Donald Rumsfeld for a troop increase + another billion dollars. The same war in which a John Hopkins University study revealed has accounted for over 600,000 Iraqi civilian deaths. The same war that was started under false pretenses whether known about or not by the Bush-Cheney administration. The same war that has accomplished nothing with the exception of starting a total all-out racial civil war amongst tribes of people who have been warring for thousands of years. Yeah, good luck getting a handle on that piece of history. I could go on and on but what's the point!? These points have already been raised in front of the American public before. But thanks to the latest slew of Republican oddities, these points on the war are beginning to take hold. Here's how...

Icing on the cake: The moderate American voter (who generally has their head up their own ass) who before could care less about the tyrannical actions of their nation, now all of a sudden give a fuck about the illegal war because of a few sex-scandals that rocked the Party of Family Values. But you know what? If that what it takes to get the attention where it should be, then I'll take it. I don't think the Rove-Republicans could have predicted that this much bad could happen to them this fast. You see their game plan (which has been made obvious in the past two elections) counts on those moderate middle-of-the-road voters to stay transfixed on the domestic issues (even though there are no such issues these days) and give something as complex as a war the back seat. So when the Foley-scandal hit these "mods", who before trusted the family-value gang, they couldn't believe the lies and deceit. When the scandal didn't go away but rather was topped by more and more--they freaked--checked the facts and realized that if they could lie to us about values and right & wrong, then surely they could lie to us about something as big as a full-fledged war.

How else can you explain the sudden interest in the war by the general moderate population? News coverage has been the same (www.mediamatters.com), a bloody month came after the polls were taken, the money spent on the war largely still isn't reported any differently than say a year ago. Americans woke-up and now the clones of the Right are paying the price and we'll see it in lost Republican election campaigns. For as much as I detested some of my fellow Americans for not voting with their brain, I am suddenly proud of them. Proud of them for finally opening their eyes to the fact that we--the American people--and only we pay the price of our elected officials actions. We're going to have to fix this mess that we allowed to happen. It's going to take a lot of time and a lot of suffering, but as Americans we can handle that. It's just funny that it took a Republican IM'ing a teenage house-page inappropriate sexual passes for people to take control over something as important as a war. I'm going to chalk it up to way too close this time America...next time there might not be a way to take back control of your government. There is no winning in 2006, the war has already started. We the people lost, now all we can do is heal and rise back up. Something we as a nation has been able to do time and time again.

Hasn't it been like 60+ days now!?

www.DowningStreetMemo.Com

60+ friggin days now and nothing has happened. It was almost never produced (check out Disney who owns Miramax), once you see the movie you'll understand why. This movie doesn't make shit up, it shows it as it all happens. There's no way anyone can spin what is seen in this picture.

7 minutes Mr. President?! What the fuck were you doing? There was a report months before 9/11 stating that terrorist factions were planning on using a plane to strike a building! This was known (see link) prior to the events on 9/11. Further more, the World Trade Towers had already been attacked my Muslim terrorists (1993 WTC Attack link), so when a security advisor comes to you and says that the country is under attack as one of the World Trade buildings has been struck by a passenger plane full of people, DO SOMETHING! He is unfit to run this country solely based on how he handled 9/11.

Enrich your mind and gain some reality...See the movie.
Aloha
JJ

Aloha

Welcome all to my first published blog.
